THERE ARE NO IMMEDIATE VISIBLE EXTERNAL COOLANT LEAKS FROM THE GROUND LEVEL VIEW WITH NO LIFT SUPPORT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION - THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS STILL PRESSURIZED AFTER A COLD ENGINE START AND MOVE BY THE SHOP TO THE STAGED POSITION IN FRONT OF THE REPAIR FACILITY - AND THERE IS VIDEO FOOTAGE ON FILE IF NEEDED. THE COOLANT RESERVOIR CAP HAD TO BE SLOWLY REMOVED DURING INSPECTION AS A RESULT.
THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF INTERMIX OF COOLANT WITHIN THE ENGINE OIL ON THE DIPSTICK AND NO OIL WITHIN THE COOLANT RESERVOIR AT THE TIME OF INSPECTION -
THE COOLANT SAMPLE RETURNS A FREEZE POINT PROTECTION OF APPROXIMATELY -5 DEGREES AND A BOILING POINT PROTECTION OF APPROXIMATELY 259 DEGREES. THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF EMULSIONS WITHIN THE ENGINE OIL CAP, NO SIGNS OF DYES OR ADDITIVES.
THERE ARE NO SIGNS THE VEHICLE IS BURNING ENGINE OIL, OR COOLANT EMITTING OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE.
THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY OVERHEATED WITH NO RELATED FAULT CODES OR FREEZE FRAME DATA LOGGED THAT SUGGESTS, DURING THE JIFFY LUBE SERVICE PROVIDED WAS A FAILED MAINTENANCE ATTEMPT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TRANSPIRED AT THE TIME OF MAINTENANCE - BUT I WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE OPERATOR / CLAIMANT WHO ADVISED ME THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, NOT THE TAILPIPE AND HE BELIEVED IMPROPER MAINTENANCE WAS BEING PERFORMED AS THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING THE ENTIRE TIME THE COOLANT SYSTEM WAS BEING FLUSHED FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 PLUS OR MINUS MINUTES AND HE THINKS THIS WAS AN IMPROPER PROCEDURE - AND AFTER THAT THE RADIATOR BLEW UP - I ASKED AND DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT THAT MEANS WHEN HE SAYS THE RADIATOR BLEW UP - AND WAS ADVISED THERE WAS SMOKE FROM UNDER THE HOOD - AFTER RETHINKING THE OLD RADIATOR WOULD NEED TO BE SECURED AND TESTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE TO THE OLD RADIATOR IN MY OPINION - DURING THE SERVICING PROCEDURES THERE ARE TIMES THAT COOLANT, IN THIS SCENARIO CAN LEAK ONTO HOT ENGINE COMPONENTS AND STEAM MAY BE EMITTING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHILE THE OPERATOR IS WITHIN THE WAITING ROOM - BUT THIS IS NOT A CONDITION OF ENGINE OVERHEATING - IN MANY CASES WHEN OPERATORS SEE STEAM FROM UNDER THE HOOD IS MISCONSTRUED FOR AN OVERHEATING CONDITION - THERE ARE SIGNS OF DRIED UP COOLANT STAINS AT THE OVERFLOW RESERVOIR SERVICE POINTS BENEATH THE CAP, BUT NOT UNCOMMON WITH THE SERVICE BEING PROVIDED - PROPER CLEANSING AT TIMES IS OVERLOOKED BY UNTRAINED PERSONAL. AT NO POINT DOES ANYONE CONFIRM THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY OVERHEATED ALONG WITH NO DATA TO SUPPORT SO - THERE WAS NO DATA TO SUPPORT THE THRESHOLD FOR OVERHEATING WAS DOCUMENTED OR PRESENTED TO SET A FAULT CODE AND LOG FREEZE FRAME DATA FOR THE ACTUAL COOLANT TEMPERATURE OVERHEAT EVENT HAD OCCURRED.
THE OBD2 SYSTEM IS LISTED AS NOT COMPLETE - THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED UP WITH NO ABNORMAL INTERNAL NOISES HEARD DURING CRANKING OR WHEN NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE WAS REACHED. THERE ARE COMBUSTION GASES THAT WERE VISIBLE DURING THE WARMUP TRANSITION EMITTING FROM THE COOLANT RESERVOIR AND THE SHOP HAD ATTACHED AN ENGINE BLOCK TESTER KIT TO THE RESERVOIR AND THE TOOL DOES DETECT A COMBUSTION CHAMBER LEAK WITHIN THE COOLANT SYSTEMS AND THE FLUID DOES TURN FROM A BLUE TO A GREEN TINGE., WHEN COMPARED TO THE COLOR OF THE BOTTLE SAMPLE - INDICATING THERE IS COMBUSTIONS WITHIN THE COOLING SYSTEM - AN INDICATION OF A CYLINDER HEAD, GASKET BREACH FAILURE WITH POSSIBLE SUB DAMAGE TO THE CYLINDER HEADS AS A RESULT OF WARPAGE -
INCONCLUSIVE - THERE IS NO DIRECT EVIDENCE THE VEHICLE WAS OVERHEATED AT THE JIFFY LUBE LOCATION FOR THE AMOUNT OF TIME BEING SERVICED - THERE ARE TOO MANY AFTERMARKET ENGINE MANAGEMENT COMPONENTS INSTALLED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DELETED EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) THAT DOES REDUCE INTERNAL NOX COMBUSTION CHAMBER TEMPERATURES AS WELL AS HELP TO REDUCE EMISSIONS AND IS ILLEGAL TO BE REMOVED AS AN EMISSION COMPONENTS - AFTERMARKET ENGINE MANAGEMENT TUNER STC FLASH TUNER INSTALLED WITHIN THE DIAGNOSTIC LINK CONNECTOR - EXHAUST SYSTEM NOT FACTORY OEM INSTALL ETC ...
