VERIFIED THERE IS EXCESSIVE FINE METAL IN THE LOWER OIL PAN CONSISTENT WITH A SPUN ROD BEARING. THE ROD BEARING CAP ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE WITH THE UPPER OIL PAN ON. THE PICK UP SCREEN IS FREE AND CLEAR. NO SLUDGE OR VARNISH. NO CODES PRESENT OR STORED AT TIME OF INSPECTION. TECH STATES THERE WERE NO CODES PRESENT OR STORED WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME IN. THERE ARE NO EXTERNAL OIL OR COOLANT LEAKS. THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL WHAT ROD BEARING HAS FAILED WITHOUT THE UPPER OIL PAN REMOVED. I REMOVED THE OIL FILL CAP AND THERE IS NO SLUDGE VISIBLE.
INTERNAL ENGINE FAILURE CONSISTENT WITH SPUN ROD BEARING. FURTHER ENGINE TEAR DOWN IS NEEDED TO VERIFY THE EXACT CAUSE, EXTENT OF DAMAGE AND REPAIRS REQUIRED
