COULD NOT VERIFY DTC, BATTERY WAS REMOVED WITH TEAR DOWN . I VERIFIED THE OIL LEVEL WAS FULL, CLEAN NO SLUDGE, NO METAL CONTAMINATION OR COOLANT INTERMIX, NO EVIDENCE OF OVERHEAT. I VERIFIED CYL WALLS.1,2,3,4 WERE GOOD, NO SCORING ,NO HOT SPOTS. I VERIFIED THE PISTONS WERE NOT DAMAGED, NO VISUAL CONTACT MARKS ON THE THE TOP OF THEM , NO DAMAGE TO THE TURBO ,THE IMPELLER SPINS FREELY , NO PLAY IN THE SHAFT. I DEMO THE EXHAUST CAM PHASER SCREW BACKED OUT OF THE BACK OF THE UNIT AND WEDGED AGAINST THE TOP OF THE CYL .HEAD . THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE CYL HEAD WHERE THE SCREW MADE CONTACT. I VERIFIED THE TEETH ON THE CAM PHASER WERE STRIPPED OFF, I VERIFIED THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE. NO DAMAGE TO THE TENSIONER OR GUIDES . THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE INTAKE CAM PHASER, THERE WAS NO METAL INTERMIX IN THE CYL HEAD . NO DAMAGE TO THE CAMSHAFTS OR LOBES .TECH ATTEMPTED TO DEMO BENT INTAKE VALVES WITH SOAP AND SHOP AIR THROUGH THE INTAKE PORTS. SOME LEAKAGE SEEN BUT THIS DOES NOT CONFIRM THE VALVES ARE BENT. I DID NOT VISUALLY SEE ANY CONTACT MARKS ON THE VALVES OR PISTONS.
EXHAUST CAM PHASER ASSEMBLY SCREW FASTENER BACKED OUT OF CAM PHASER AND LODGED INTO CYL HEAD CAUSING SUBSEQUENT TIMING CHAIN BREAK AND DAMAGE TO THE SPROCKET. FURTHER DIAGNOSIS IS NEEDED TO VERIFY IF THERE IS ACTUAL VALVE DAMAGE, NONE SEEN CURRENTLY.
