Failed Components and Extent of Damage
UPON INSPECTION OF THIS VEHICLE. I INSPECTED THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL AND CONDITION. I FOUND THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL OVER FULL AND THE CONDITION POOR. THE ENGINE OIL HAS AN INTERMIXING OF COOLANT. THE TECHNICIAN THEN STARTED THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE IS RUNNING ROUGH. THERE IS ALSO A NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I VERIFIED WHILE USING A STETHOSCOPE, WHEN COLD OR HOT THE ENGINE HAS A LOWER-END NOISE. I VERIFIED THE SOUND COMING FROM THE LOWER ENGINE INSIDE THE ENGINE PAN. THE REPAIR FACILITY TECHNICIAN STATED, “WHEN THE VEHICLE ARRIVED, HE USED THE SCAN TOOL TO RETRIEVE FAILURE CODES. I VERIFIED FAILURE CODE P0300 RANDOM MISFIRE ALL CYLINDERS. P0301 CYLINDER MISFIRE #1 DETECTED P0302 CYLINDER MISFIRE #2 DETECTED. . UNABLE TO IDENTIFY LOCATION OF COOLANT LEAK; THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF IMPACT DAMAGE ENGINE RUNS ROUGH, COLD, OR HOT VEHICLE IS IN POOR CONDITION WITH NO SIGNS OF ABUSE MODIFICATIONS OR COMMERCIAL USAGE NO SIGNS OF RECENT REPAIRS OIL FILTER IN FAIR CONDITION. NO OTHER FAILURES WERE FOUND OR DEMONSTRATED.
CONDITIONS VERIFIED ARE INDICATIVE OF AN CYLINDER HEAD GASKET FAILURE. NO EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE FROM VANDALISM, IMPACT OR FROM AN OUTSIDE SOURCE. WATER IN THE FUEL TANK WOULD NOT CAUSE THIS CONCERN.
