****DETERMINE IF LONG TERM FAILURE OR RECENT. PURCHASE DATE WAS: 11/19/2022 @ 112,506 MILES**** CUSTOMER STATEMENT- TOOK IN A FEW WEEKS AGO, WHEN DRIVING IT WAS JERKING BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING, ALSO MAKING A NOISE. ASKED ABOUT WARNING LIGHTS NO LIGHTS WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING. CONCERN JUST STARTED HAPPENING HE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE WHEN NOTICED. SHOP FINDINGS- WARPED STEELS AND DIRECT/FWD CLUTCH BURNT, TORQUE CONVERTER AND TECM HAVE FAILED. SHOP STATES FLUID IS BLACK/BURNT FROM OVERHEATING AND SLIPPING. PER SHOP NO CODES STORED, ALSO LINE PRESS TEST NOT DONE, JUST TORN DOWN AFTER VERIFYING CONCERN. CHECK FOR LONG TERM FAILURE/PRIOR TO CONTRACT CUSTOMER BOUGHT VEHICLE A FEW WEEKS AGO. HE TOOK VEHICLE IN AFTER ONLY 3 WEEKS OF OWNERSHIP. PLEASE VERIFY AL FAILURES FOUND BY SHOP- FOR OVERHEATING-INPSECT FLUID IN THE EXTERNAL COOLER BYPASS VALVE BEING DARKER THAN THE REST OF THE FLUID, VERIFY TORQUE CONVERTER, TCM, AND CLUTCHES, OVERHEATING. VERIFY PISTON AND PISTON SEAL CONDITION, FOR BEING CRACKED, TORN, BRITTLE, ETC TO DETERMINE IF LONG TERM WEAR. SUPPORT FINDINGS WITH PHOTOS: PLEASE LABEL ALL PHOTOS CHECK FOR RUST AND CORROSION, LACK OF LUBRICATION, OVERHEATING, COMMERCIAL, UBER, LYFT, TAXI USE, CONTINUED OPERATION OR MODIFICATIONS, OR A TRAILER HITCH. DID THESE MODIFICATIONS, IF PRESENT, AFFECT THE FAILURE?

NO VISIBLE EXTERNAL LEAKS AND NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO TRANSMISSION. TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ASSEMBLIES ARE SEVERELY BURNT. WAVE SPRINGS AND STEEL PLATES ARE WARPED. THERE IS HEAVY METAL CONTAMINATION IN THE VALVE BODY, SOLENOIDS AND TCM. MAIN SHAFT BUSHING IN CASE IS SCORED. EXTERNAL TRANSMISSION COOLER IN FRONT OF VEHICLE HAS HEAVY METAL CONTAMINATION FROM INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE TORQUE CONVERTER IS FULL OF DEBRIS FROM FAILURE.CLUTCH PISTON SEALS ARE SOFT AND PLIABLE THERE IS NO APPARENT SEAL FAILURE.

INTERNAL TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE CAUSING CONTAMINATION TO THE UNIT SCORING THE BUSHING AND CONTAMINATION OF THE VALVE BODY. CONTINUED OPERATION RESULTED IN OVERHEATING OF THE CLUTCHES AND WARPAGE OF THE STEELS. INITIAL CONVERTER FAILURE WAS IN PROGRESS PRIOR TO 879 MILES
