Failed Components and Extent of Damage
THE TECHNICIAN DEMONSTRATED TO ME THE VALVE COVER TO BE LEAKING LONG TERM WITH ROAD DEBRIS BUILD UP. BOTH REAR UPPER BALL JOINTS HAVE PLAY WHEN MANIPULATED BY HAND AND THE BOOTS TO BE CRACKED AND LEAKING LONG TERM WITH ROAD DEBRIS BUILD UP. THE TRANSFER CASE REAR OUTPUT SEAL IS LEAKING LONG TERM WITH ROAD DEBRIS BUILD UP. THERE ARE NO CODES STORED IN THE VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. NO OTHER FAILURES OR DAMAGES WERE SEEN OR DEMONSTRATED TO ME AT THIS TIME.
MATERIAL FAILURE OF THE VALVE COVER GASKET HAS RESULTED IN THE DAMAGES SEEN. MATERIAL FAILURE OF THE TRANSFER CASE REAR OUTPUT SEAL HAS RESULTED IN THE DAMAGES SEEN. FAILURE OF BOTH REAR UPPER BALL JOINTS ARE DUE TO TIME, MILES AND USE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO.
Recommendations for Repair
REPLACEMENT OF THE VALVE COVER GASKET, TRANSFER CASE REAR OUTPUT SEAL AND BOTH REAR UPPER BALL JOINTS WILL BE NEEDED FOR REPAIRS AT THIS TIME.
